In Proverbs 11:30, we read, "The fruit of the rigtheous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise."
Biblical wisdom entails living in such a way where souls are both attracted to Christ, and then, thereby won to Christ.
The wise person orders his steps in such a way where the Christian life is portrayed as attractive.
His or her life bears fruit that is healing, inviting, and life-giving. It's attractive. But the tree does not keep the fruit for itself, but shares the fruit.
In that we see not only are we to be biblically wise in living attractive lives, but we are also to share the root of our fruit - Christ himself.
In living gospel-transformed lives, and boldly offering the gospel to others, people will be won to Christ.
How are you living, dear friend? Is the fruit of your tree life-giving to others? Are others attracted to Christ because of your life?
Let us be wise, and with the apostle Paul, employ all means possible to win souls to Christ.
May God be with you in this endeavor!
Prayer: Holy Spirit, produce in me, in ever-increasing measure, the fruit of righteousness. Let me life be an attractive, shining beacon, illuminating the true light - Christ Himself. Grant me boldness to proclaim Christ to those who ask for a reason for the hope inside of me. O God of wisdom, the Scriptures say that the beginning of wisdom is to fear you. Help us to fear you always, and to live wise lives, for the glory of Christ, and the sake of lost souls. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
